Little Free Libraries in the Parks. Word Seed provides the community with free access to books that children and adults could have as their own. It created a network of Free Community Libraries, and sited them throughout the Paterson Parks, extending the reach of books to a wider range of families. Community members are encouraged to take or leave a book, thus extending the reach of the Public Library system. Word Seed worked closely with community members to construct these Free Library boxes, at no cost, and with the support of local government agencies and community organizations to install these Free Library boxes in public parks. The program is one of only five recipient in the world to earn the Todd H. Bol Award for Outstanding achievement (2019). The program continues to grow and accept donations directly to the various libraries and our storage facility within the Paterson Public Library system.
