Who we are

Word Explorers

The Word Seed, Inc. mission is to give voice and support to writers of every age and skill level within our diverse communities. We believe that literacy has the power to craft the trajectory of a person’s life. Our vision is to ensure that everyone has both the access and the tools to use words. We start with the seed which is basic literacy in very young children and continue our exploration into the many blooms and blossoms that language becomes as an artistic expression of the mature writer.

Seedling Writers

The early stage of writing is recognizing the word and knowing that the word is good. Writers are also readers. The Seed to 3 Literacy program grows the love of words.

Growing Writers

Workshops and programs for emerging or experimenting word lovers nurture the writer during growth. The Speak Series and other word crafting opportunities happen year round.

Mature Writers

Experienced writers need love too! We host readings with featured writers and networking meetings for those who want to converse with others whether it's about a developing piece or just for bonding through words.
